Auberge Handfield et Spa

We spent an excellent two nights at Auberge Handfield. The room was as comfortable and carefully appointed as we remembered from previous stays. We would never have guessed the pool would be open and usable in October! It was ready to go along with the outdoor hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner the first night and breakfast both mornings. Staff is friendly and helpful!

Welcoming, unique accomodation. We had river view, unfortunately other members of our group had "inn view" which faces onto a busy road. There was a beautiful wedding that weekend so room choice was imited. I enjoyed the outdoor pool with marina view, a hot tub and restaurant. I was trying to eat Quebecois food.....and creme brule was the last item on my list to try. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I had hoped! Canadian pea soup and the mushroom starter were very tasty. All staff we encountered were 10/10. Would love to return.

What a great accommodation! The staff is very kind and professional! I easily found the room I rent with their informations. The area is nicely maintained and the rooms are comfortable! I just discovered the presence of the spa and didn't know about when I reserved.

Our space was delightful with a balcony over the Richelieu river. The beds were super comfy with lots of pillows, and there was good storage space. The staff were friendly and efficient. We would go back in a flash. Still, for a perfect stay, we would need: little containers of real coffee cream in the fridge rather than the fake stuff; and a grab bar or even a studded bath mat to make it safe to get in and out of that wonderful tub. The big problem was when we arrived home near midnight on our second night (of three) and our key cards refused to work. Luckily, the clerk was working late because of a wedding, and she reprogrammed them, but normally she wouldn't have been there.

Quaint and cute inn outside of the city, provides a peaceful weekend getaway for couples. Upon arrival reception staff were courteous and polite, explaining the layout of the inn and directions to our room very well. The room itself was clean and spacious with a view of the river (there is a balcony, but being the winter we did not go out on it). The queen bed was comfortable as well. We had also dined at the on-site restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal. Food was tasty and fresh, and the rustic decor made it for a very enjoyable experience. Breakfast was also included in our package and it was just as good as the dinner service. Wait staff were polite and attentive so no complaints dining on site. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at Auberge Handfield and would highly recommend it to those seeking a quiet getaway from the city.

Cozy and beautiful Auberge, wonderful staff and waiters at the restaurant. We got married here and just came back to celebrate our Anniversary. The perfect weekend getaway. The room was very clean and well-equipped and we enjoyed the gorgeous view on the river.

Nice room with good beds and great view of the river. Good breakfast in the cosy restaurant. With fresh fruits, freshly baked eggs and a diversity of breads. We had to cross a busy road to reach our room.

They changed their after checkout policy, and once checked out, you can’t stay on the premises anymore to enjoy the pool, jacuzzi, spa or any other amenities. It was our 4th year in a row and Auberge Handfield and to find out at 11 am, after spending the night, that you are basically being kicked out, without any prior notice of such a big change in policy, which is also highly unusual of a policy for the industry, was extremely unsatisfactory. We always stayed until the late afternoon to enjoy a snack or meal by the pool, after checkout, as our last day activity, but this was nonsensical and required a low review. Their reasoning was that they had a lot of other customers that came to the marina docks and couldn’t keep clients past checkout … although the pool and the lounging premises were completely empty. It was sad to be told that since check out, you aren’t considered a customer anymore and they prioritise potential marina customers over you. Anyhow, Auberge Handfield felt like a traditional escapade for my wife and I, but this fourth year in a row will unfortunately be our last.

The terrace is old and can really use a refresh, the plastic tablecloth had a cigarette burn in it and was not changed for new customers The food was nice, overpriced and small portions compared to every other restaurant that served that same meal. Sangria, nice but mediocre. Truly disappointing as the beautiful indoor ancestral restaurant is beautiful. Hopefully different chefs
